Whatcom County is known for a very moderate year-round climate with temperatures rarely below 32° in winter or above 80° in summer. As a whole Whatcom County has a precipitation average of 35 inches a year. Although this may seem like a lot to some, it is less then other parts of the country. This precipitation is what keeps our local area green and beautiful. Our winters are very mild with only 8.5 inches of snowfall, and around 6 days below freezing. Our summers are beautiful with only 3.3 days of our temperature being greater than 90 degrees. There is great myth about Washington and that is ?All it does is rain.? But for those that live, here know that is not true.
